What kids actually get out of it
Parents bring children here for all sorts of reasons: a kid who needs more confidence, a kid with too much energy, a kid being picked on, a kid who just wants to do karate because it looks great. All of those work.
What every one of them gets is the same thing — a structure where effort is visible, progress is earned, and there is an adult expecting them to try. That is what builds the confidence and the self-control. The karate is how it gets delivered.
What a session looks like
- Warm-up and basic conditioning suited to the age group
- Stances, blocks, strikes and kicks drilled properly
- Kata — the set forms that carry the technique
- Partner drills at a controlled, supervised level
- Respect and dojo etiquette as part of every class
- Grading work as students progress through the belts
Who it suits
- Children from age 6 — some conditions apply depending on the child
- Complete beginners who have never trained before
- Kids who need confidence, focus or an outlet for energy
- Families where a parent trains in the senior class straight after

神 Questions
Worth knowing
before you start
What age can my child start karate?
Junior karate starts at age 6. Some conditions apply depending on the individual child, so have a chat with us on 0409 858 304 and we will tell you whether they are ready.
Does my child need a uniform to start?
No. Comfortable clothes they can move in are fine for the first classes. A gi can be sorted out once you know they are staying.
How long is a junior class?
45 minutes, from 4:30pm to 5:15pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. A Monday class is also available — ring to confirm it is running.
Can I stay and watch?
Yes. Parents are welcome to watch. Plenty of parents watch the first few weeks and then end up joining the senior class themselves.
Is it safe? Will my child get hurt?
Junior training is supervised and controlled. Technique and discipline come first, contact is limited and appropriate to age and level, and coaches are qualified through Martial Arts Australia.
